Upgrade the Gateway

Upgrading BlastShield™ Gateways

We recommend that you keep all nodes In a BlastShield™ Network on the same firmware release.

Always upgrade the Orchestrator firmware before upgrading the Gateways.

To learn how to upgrade a Gateway, watch the following video or read the steps below.
  1. Connect to BlastShield™ and open the Orchestrator in your browser (https://orchestrator.blastshield.io).

    1. Click on the Gateways menu on the left-hand side, then from the status window on the right, click the name of the Gateway you are interested in.

    2. The firmware version and status will be displayed in the status window on the far right.  Make sure the Gateway is online.

    3. If there is a firmware upgrade available, the UPDATE FIRMWARE button will be colored red.

    2. The firmware update will upgrade the Gateway firmware to the same firmware version as the Orchestrator. The new firmware will be downloaded, and the gateway will reboot to upgrade. The upgrade will interrupt traffic to the endpoints attached to the Gateway for the time it takes the Gateway to reboot.Whilst the Gateway is performing the upgrade its status will be indicated as offline and traffic to any attached endpoint is interrupted during the time when the gateway reboots.

  3. Once the upgrade has completed, the Gateway’s status will change to online and the new firmware version will be indicated.
